Haley Gardiner

(she/her)

 Get to know me!

What inspired you to become a tattoo artist?

I never quite felt like I fit into the crowd at school or fell in the realm of what people expected from me in life (so original I know). Art and nature have always been a passion of mine, and with tattooing, I feel like I’ve found a way to express my love for both. Starting out as a visual artist, I found my roots in the art community at a young age and knew that was the direction I wanted to take my life. After starting my apprenticeship, I found not only a passion for the medium but a viable career path and have been tattooing ever since!

How long have you been tattooing?

I started my apprenticeship in 2016 and since then have had the opportunity to work with a handful of incredible artists which allowed me to continue to hone my skills and brought me to where I am today!

What is your preferred style of tattooing? Do you specialize in any particular type of tattoo?

I specialize in blackwork concepts; botanical, floral, anatomical, inanimate, geometric, ornamental, surrealistic, fineline, abstract, etc.

I would also love to experiment more with botanical colour realism, micro-realism, grayscale realism (sculptural, architectural, anatomical) and art nouveau-inspired designs!

What are some of your interests outside of tattooing?

When I am not tattooing you will often find me out travelling the world -or planning the next trip- to find new inspiration or visit far-away friends!

Outside of the shop, you’ll find me expanding on my knowledge and practice of the arts (my most recent endeavours including pottery and piano), volunteering with organizations focused on the care of our community and environment, trying to convince myself I like to exercise (hiking, golf and yoga are all time favs, tennis is growing on me atm), obsessively collecting plants for the studio and my home, playing games (some of you may know me as a huge dungeons & dragons nerd) or spending time with my four fur babies!

  • A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to book an appointment, this amount will be taken off the cost of your tattoo.

My hourly rate for custom designs is $200 per hour of tattooing time. If your piece is larger/multi-session, I offer a discounted rate of $175 per hour. For pre-drawn designs, flash or tiny tattoos, the price is by piece and is determined by size and detail. My minimum charge is $120. I can generally provide an accurate estimate at the time of booking but please note this is not guaranteed!

  • I typically tattoo Monday-Thursday between 10:00 am-4:00 pm, depending on circumstances I may be able to accommodate an appointment outside of these hours. I usually book about 3-6 months in advance.

  • All of my bookings are done through my email, haley@honeybeetattoo.ca. To request an appointment please email with your tattoo idea including, design details, inspiration, size, style and placement. If your email is missing this information you will be given an opportunity to add it once your submission has been reviewed!

Please be patient when waiting to hear back as my focus, when I am not actively booking appointments, is on my scheduled tattoos and keeping Honey Bee running.
